Buckhead to Make Piedmont Road More Pedestrian and Bike Friendly

Buckhead, a subdistrict of Atlanta, is planning to transform one of its main roads, Piedmont Road, into a Complete Street that will accommodate pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists. The project, which has been in the works since 2008, will widen the road, add a shared-use path, and improve traffic flow. The construction is expected to start in October 2021, along with another project to overhaul Lenox Road nearby. These projects are part of Buckhead’s vision to become more accessible and livable for non-motorists.
