New BeltLine Section Connects Piedmont Park to Buckhead
The Atlanta BeltLine has opened a new section of its Northeast Trail that links Piedmont Park to the Armour district near SweetWater Brewing Company. The 1.2-mile segment crosses over the Buford-Spring Connector and under Interstate 85, providing off-street mobility for several intown neighborhoods. The new section also features lighting, landscaping, and security cameras.
The BeltLine celebrated the opening of the new section with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, attended by Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, BeltLine leadership, and state-level officials. The mayor called the new section “one of the most highly anticipated segments of the overall BeltLine.”
