Texas Barbecue Flavors Come to Atlanta Ansley Mall Next Year

Atlanta’s barbecue scene is set to welcome a new player as South Carolina pitmaster John Lewis brings his renowned Texas-style barbecue to Ansley Mall next year.
Known for his popular Charleston and Greenville locations, Lewis is famous for his brisket, pork spare ribs, sausages, pulled pork, and turkey, along with vegetarian sides that forego smoked meats or bacon. Staying true to his roots, Lewis plans to stick with his original recipes, a decision that reflects his philosophy of “staying in my lane.”
The upcoming restaurant, expected to open next summer, will occupy the former Laundry Lounge and the Hideaway space, facing the BeltLine. As preparations for the opening continue, Lewis Barbecue is seeking local Atlanta breweries for collaborative pop-up events, promising a blend of authentic Texas barbecue and Atlanta’s vibrant culinary scene.
