The Hopper: Atlanta’s Free Ride to the Future
Atlanta’s bustling cityscape has welcomed a novel addition to its transportation network: The Hopper, an autonomous vehicle (AV) pilot program that’s changing the way residents and visitors traverse the area. Launched by the Cumberland Community Improvement District, The Hopper offers free rides across the Interstate 285 pedestrian bridge, connecting people to The Battery and Truist Park, the home of the Atlanta Braves.
Engineered by Beep, The Hopper boasts some of the highest ridership figures nationwide. As the Cumberland Sweep gears up for construction in October, the community anticipates a future where personal vehicles are no longer the default mode of transport, thanks to initiatives like The Hopper that pave the way for a greener, more connected Atlanta. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project.
