Atlanta Barbers Launch Hidden Speakeasy and Listening Room at Ponce City Market
📍 La Cueva (inside Ponce City Market)
675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308, 📅 Opening Late 2025
The team behind one of Atlanta’s popular barbershops, The Commodore, is stepping into the cocktail world with La Cueva, a hidden speakeasy and listening room set to open on the second floor of Ponce City Market later this year.
La Cueva (Spanish for “the cave”) will feature plush seating, warm lighting, and a cozy vibe for enjoying cocktails, wine, beer, and shareable Mexican fare curated by consulting chef Luis Damian (Oaxaca, El Valle, Casa Balam). Expect a menu of botanas like octopus tostadas, halibut ceviche, and wrapped chicken mole, alongside creative cocktails with a strong mezcal focus and nods to owner Robert Hopper’s favorite drinks, including trappist beers and mojitos.

The 2,700-square-foot space, designed by Maison Maluee, will include a small stage for live jazz, open mic nights, DJ sets, and comedy shows. A new Commodore barbershop will open next door, with a porthole window allowing guests in the bar a peek into the barbershop.
La Cueva joins a wave of new openings at Ponce City Market, including Boom Boom Bao, Lime Tiger, Uwu Asian Dessert Co., and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, adding another reason to visit the bustling Market this year.
Stay tuned for official opening dates as La Cueva prepares to welcome guests for an evening of music, cocktails, and community in the heart of Atlanta.
