El Malo: A New Cocktail Bar in Atlanta

El Malo is inspired by the original spirits of the Americas: agave and rum. The beverage director, Gabe Bowen, has crafted a menu of imaginative and modern cocktails that showcase the terroir of these spirits, such as milk punches, clarified cocktails, and draft drinks. The food, prepared by chef Brad Forsblom and pastry chef Claudia Martinez, features dishes and desserts that highlight the flavors of Latin America and the Caribbean, such as king crab with Tajín butter, rock shrimp ceviche, and guava and cream cheese pastries.
The design of El Malo is a cross between places like Dante’s Hi-Fi in Miami and Serpent A Plume in Paris, with a touch of New York City after hours. The bar is a little subversive, a little dangerous, definitely decadent, and sensual.
El Malo is a place for people to feel good and feel good about themselves, according to partner Omar Ferrer.
